Puerto Peñasco Field Trip
In May 2009 Neuer Lab members Jessica Mohler, Becky Mestek, Amy Hansen, Phil Tarrant and guest Edgardo Ramirez-Reinat accompanied Susanne Neuer to the CEDO research station in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. They travelled down to the station to test a number of potential field experiments to be included in an environmental life sciences course Dr. Neuer is planning to teach in Spring 2010.
While staying in this picturesque part of Mexico they spent time recovering sediment samples from the mud in the local estuary, examining zooplankton using a dissecting scope, and conducting tide pool transects. Along with these experiments there was also time to enjoy the local cuisine!
